My worm composting setup has undergone a serious upgrade. The whole thing should need about 4-6 pounds of worms to maximize the production of this bin. The unit has a screen bottom for flow through harvesting with a slot for scraping the bottom layer off, this a non-tested feature. Two PVC pipes have been added with holes throughout them for proper air circulation. Handles and a front set of rolling wheels allow easy moving throughout the garage area. It's getting pretty heavy already at one third full. This bin began with 1 pound of worms, and a couple dozen night crawlers that I caught in the yard. It will take several months for the worms to reproduce to fill this bin to maximum capacity.
